    The Doing Business Together section of the OSEntreprendre Challenge showcases diversified models of businesses that stand out for their purchasing practices that prioritize dealing with suppliers across Québec.

    Whether it is choosing a hotel or choosing a packaging manufacturer, each decision to do business together has positive tangible economic, human and environmental impacts.

    Step 1 of the OSEntreprendre Challenge

    Does your business deal with Québec suppliers? If it does, showcasing your purchasing practices in the OSEntreprendre Challenge will inspire other entrepreneurs and could even win you a cash prize! Register before 4 p.m. on March 14, 2023!

    Read the Guide to the Form to properly prepare your application. The answers to questions must demonstrate that the project meets the evaluation criteria (pending): 

     

    Do you have any questions about your project’s eligibility? Contact your local representative.

    Eligible businesses

    Businesses must:

    • Be a for-profit or a collective business, having between 1 and 499 employees inclusively and an annual revenue not exceeding $50 million;
    • Have a Québec Enterprise Number (NEQ).
    • Have its head office in Québec. 
    • Be majority-owned by Quebecers, according to the information in the Registraire des entreprises du Québec.
    • Be supplied (purchase of goods and/or services) by at least one other business that is majority owned by Quebecers, according to the information in the Registraire des entreprises du Québec.
    • Not have registered a project in the Business Creation section of the current edition of the OSEntreprendre Challenge.
    • Be presented on the duly completed application before the online registration period closes.

    Eligible participants

    The applicant(s) must:

    • Be 18 years of age or older.
    • Reside in Québec and have Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.

    Exclusions:

    Staff members and administrators of OSEntreprendre and of any regional mandatary organizations, as well as local and regional representatives, members of the organizing committee, jury members, honorary presidents, suppliers, sponsoring partners and strategic alliances of the current edition of the OSEntreprendre Challenge are not eligible, no matter the section they are involved in.

    Businesses that are in the start-up phase register for the Business Creation section.

    The Doing Business Together section enables already established businesses to demonstrate how their supply practices have evolved to prioritize dealing with Québec suppliers.

    Selection process

    All prizewinners receive an item in recognition of their initiative and to inspire entrepreneurship throughout Québec!

     

    Please note that applicants who are not present for an interview scheduled as part of the process are considered as having withdrawn their application.

    It should be noted that as part of the selection process, no jury is required to award all the prizes if the quality of the applications received is not deemed satisfactory or if no project has been registered in a category. The decisions made by the juries may not be appealed. The jury members, or the members of the regional committee, do not forward their comments or their completed evaluation sheets to the participants following the analysis process.

    Local level | Selection: beginning of April

    In the territories that do not select local winners, all applications will move on directly to the regional level. 

    The winners will receive:

    • Official seal
    • Certificate
    • Banner

    $5 000* at the regional level | Selection: end of April

    In addition to prizes, the winners will receive:

    • Official seal
    • Certificate
    • Lapel pin

     

    At the regional level, a $5 000* prize, presented by Desjardins and supported by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of Quebec, will be awarded in each of the 17 regions of Québec at a regional gala at the end of April or the beginning of May.

    $25 000* at the provincial level | Selection: May

    The 5 finalists will be invited to the interviews which will take place in May.

    In addition to the prize, the winner will receive:

    • Official seal
    • Certificate
    • Trophy

    The provincial winner of the OSEntreprendre Challenge will be revealed and will receive a $25 000* prize, thanks to the financial contribution of Desjardins and the ministère de l'Économie et de l'Innovation, at the Desjardins Grand Prize Gala of OSEntreprendre Challenge in June.
